Alexander Australia is the Australian importer and distributor of the world-famous Alexander Horns, as well as a full range of Reka wind instrument cleaning kits and La Tromba valve oils & cork grease.

In 1987, Hans Alexander emigrated to Australia with his wife and son. He moved to picturesque Cooroy, on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast, where he started Alexander Australia. As well as expanding the family business by bringing Alexander Horns to Australia, his business imported and distributed a range of accessories for wind and string instruments. Hans was a great businessman and promoter. Many horn players will remember the travelling Alexander Horn exhibitions; every few years Hans would load up his car and road trip around Australia, giving horn players the opportunity to see and try out the full range of Alexander Horns.

After Hans’ passing in 2005, the business was carried on by his wife Joan for some time before Rosemary Gibbes, who had worked with Hans and Joan in the company for several years, took over the business. Rosemary successfully upheld the high standards of the brand established by Hans Alexander, by continuing to offer only the highest quality products and service to Australian musicians.

In 2013 circumstances made it necessary for Rosemary to step away from the business. The string part of the business was transferred to The Sydney String Centre. Alexander Australia is now based in Melbourne and continues to import the finest horns and wind accessories.
