The original Golden Century has long been considered a Sydney icon. Generations of loyal customers continue to flood through its doors for its traditional Chinese seafood recipes, spicy specialties and heart-warming hospitality from its owners, Eric and Linda Wong. Indeed, it’s even a late night favourite of Sydney’s most celebrated celebrity chefs who can often be spotted dining on The Golden Century’s famous ‘Pippies in XO Sauce’ (once their own restaurants have closed for the evening, that is).

Ask Linda and Eric’s secret to their longevity and they’ll tell you, “Our strong sense of tradition, heritage and family values.” Of course, consistently delicious dishes also help. Which is exactly what The Golden Century still delivers some 30 years later and this has helped Eric and Linda grow from a single restaurant into an ever-expanding hospitality empire.

These days, The Golden Century Group comprises the world-renowned ‘Golden Century’ in Chinatown; ‘The Century’ at Sydney Casino, a younger sibling of the famous flagship restaurant; the newly-opened ‘Wine Bank at The Golden Century’; with ‘XOPP’ a new edition to the portfolio due to open later in this year.
