Please note that under Stage 4 restrictions, taking your pet to the vet is listed under “health and care” and that you may travel more than 5km to go to the vet. We will be sending text messages confirming your appointment to use as proof of reason for travel. In cases of emergency you are allowed to go to the vet after 8pm.

We would like to advise that currently all services are operating at Malvern Vet as per the Victorian Government directives.

Please be assured that we have copious strict measures in place to minimise any risk to you and our staff.

We are currently only allowing pets in the building and asking clients to remain outside. When you arrive please call 03 9509 7611 to advise us you are here. A vet will speak to you over the phone on arrival..

Staff have copious and stringent measures in place to minimize risk of COVID-19 transmission including but not limited to: staff wearing gloves/ masks or visors/goggles, using and carrying hand sanitizer and their own pen on their person at all times, and temperature checks prior to coming to work. There are protocols around cleaning all tools and surfaces including but not limited to computer equipment, clip boards, exam tables and equipment, door knobs, cages including handles. Regular uniform/scrub top changes, gloves changed immediately after admissions and between examinations. There are strict social distancing practices between staff and between staff and clients. These are just a few of the practices that are in place for the protection of everyone.

The Federal government have deemed Veterinary services to be an essential service, so you can feel confident that you can still come to us.

For those who prefer, we are also now frequently performing tele-consultations over the phone, facetime or zoom. We ask you to email any relevant history and photos before you book in for a phone consultation. If the vet deems it necessary to examine your pet no additional fee will apply.
When the government relaxes measures, we will respond in kind and go back to our regular consultation practices.
