Warehouse Sound Systems Pty Ltd was originally known as Warehouse Sound Hire Company, an enterprise formed in Collingwood in 1978 by three Melbourne musicians with a collective interest in audio equipment for live performance.
Appointing Sven Langebeck to manage the start-up company, it established a niche supplying local bands with portable, powerful sound systems that would withstand the rigours of Australian touring.
With change of name in 1981 when Sven joined the partnership, the business became known for designing and installing reliable high volume sound systems in many of Melbourne's landmark nightclubs and live music venues.
By the end of the 90's Sven had full ownership of the business and expanded its services to meet the audio, lighting and visual requirements of commercial hotels, bars, theatres, restaurants, houses of worship, sporting arenas, shopping centres, schools and more.
